Eureka Forbes Customer care has been playing the fool with us from quite some time now, every other day, someone calls and says he is the Manager or he is Area head, or Karnataka in charge and asks us why we are wasting our time contacting all these people at Eureka Forbes, who will not respond back to us.

One of them said there are so many consumer cases registered against Eureka Forbes but that hardly makes a difference to the company, otherwise you would have had some suitable recourse or approprriate solution to your grievance at your first email

So he says just handover a cheque for the future AMC and stop wasting your time or go ahead with filing the case

Our grievance will feature out on 20,000 blogs to start with and then we will take it forward from there

The same technician called us yesterday afternoon & asked us "just what did you not understand from all my explanation yesterday"

He took offence at us registering a complaint with Eureka Forbes customer care again but we never did so, all we did was send an email to you, requesting your personal intervention

His conversation was borderline threatening, he made it clear to us again that he will not replace any part whatsoever, even though there were 20 days left for the AMC expiry, as this was the Eureka Forbes policy and that we were free to complain to anyone or file a case whatsoever

Interestingly he said "Are you even aware what are the water purifier equipment spares changed by our firm in the last so many years, everytime we come for service, we make your family members sign the job card, do they even read it, so he goes on to say if were to file a case, it would not be difficult for his firm to produce job cards signed by us, matching procurement bills & spares purchase orders in court. This means that they will overwrite & alter old job cards, manipulate procurement bills & produce pre-dated fake spares purchase orders in court

Just for your knowledge, the equipment has never failed in the last 10 years or since it's purchase and all these guys did was servicing, washing & cleaning only. We have absolutely no knowledge of them replacing any components or parts whatsoever because neither have we made any such complaints or requests in the past, nor have they checked with us or informed us about the same

He further said do not waste your time writing to customer care, even if the CEO of Eureka Forbes requests, we will not replace the UV Lamp & or filter candles because this is the only way customers can be forced to renew the AMC for another 3 years

So he says under no circumstances will his company service & repair the water purifier, unless we give him a cheque for Rs 5,000 odd towards 3 year AMC renewal

As it is clear & evident that Eureka Forbes customer care has no power, they have miserably & pathetically failed, so we have escalated this to you & all officials concerned

We would very much appreciate an early reply

The equipment LED light was not working, your technician said the UV Lamp was burnt.

He mentioned that during the last service, the technician attending to it would have been aware & alerted about the impending fault. He also said it looks like the UV Lamp had never been changed in the past 10 years, perhaps it should & could have been changed earlier itself. He also mentioned that the filter candles also appeared to have not been replaced in years.

But he said he had a round about, if we were to renew the AMC contract now in the 35th month itself, 20 days before expiry, he would replace the candles & the UV Lamp and he said this was inline with Eureka Forbes company policies & standard practises

He further said that as per Eureka Forbes company rules, even though the Annual Maintenance Contract was still valid, the last month is labelled as "cheating month", wherein even though the AMC for the 36th month is paid for, the company will not honour the contract, enforcing or rather blackmailing the customer into buying another 3 year AMC worth Rs 5,000, this inspite of the fact that both the candles & UV lamp cost only a few hundred rupees in the open market. Therefore he would not replace the UV lamp or the candles, unless another 3 year contract was paid for before the expiry of the previous contract

Surely you will understand that hapless fellow could not have used these words or the language but since we are kannadigas by domicile, we understood what exactly he meant and since we have most of it on record, if we are to translate word by word, it exactly means shutters down & "Goodbye to Eureka Forbes"

He could have said don't worry, let me check with my company & come back to you, maybe we can do this, maybe we can do that but nothing, he was hardcore, well prepared for the situation to use such modus operandi, obviously trained by Eureka Forbes to employ procedures & measures to cheat, blackmail & extort, really what is this scam you guys have started running ? We always had the feeling, we could rely & trust Eureka Forbes

We expressed our anguish to him quite clearly, if there was an iota of truth, sincerety or honesty left, Eureka Forbes customer care would have called us by now to explain or contain the situation

In the normal course of things, there maybe a thousand policies/contracts in force, we never even get to know which AMC has expired, going to expire and or renewed because the company staff take care of all that, our vendors being Haier, IFB, LG, Panasonic, Dell, Lenovo, Icici Lombard, United India, Airtel, Idea, a hundred others. We have never been threatened & blackmailed by any vendor into renewing a contract before it's expiry to facilitate valid contractual
maintenance

It is like this insurance company calling my wife and saying "congratulations, your husband has completed half a century but before your husband dies in the next few years, make sure you renew the policy for another 20 years now itself to facilitate appropriate çlaim payout upon death"

We spoke to our company lawyer who asked us to register a police complaint alleging cheating & that he would then file a case in consumer court, all has to be done while the contract is still valid, which means that we don't have much time to sleep over this

Our relationship with Eureka Forbes started 30 years ago, it has been water purifiers, air purifiers, vacuum cleaners & what not. We have business interests with the Shapoorji Pallonji Group too. Then we have about 35-40 water purifier units alone, in all our apartments owned by ourselves & family members across the city and have been Eureka Forbes loyal customers from over three decades

But the bad new is that we don't appreciate being cheated or being taken for a ride or being blackmailed or extorted, we are aware everybody nowadays wants to earn money the easy way, employing the wrong, illegal methods & it is our moral obligation that we pursue such cases to their most logical conclusions

Eureka Forbes has not been able to retain it's monopoly in this product line, so it should adapt to honest methods & honour customer service agreements, atleast for genuine & valid claims. We are not aware at what level in Eureka Forbes & from where these cheating practices are amanating & policies being enforced upon. This kind of news should not become viral & affect your existing market base or your group companies' market capitalisation

As we have some lingering doubts in our mind that Eureka Forbes may be using a third party vendor / service provider, so we thought it necessary to bring this to your company's notice

Before you come out with some trivial explanation in defence, we suggest you speak to your company compliance officer
